Have you ever seen a movie, TV show or play with an actor you know is doing an accent, and you know they're doing it BADLY? Take a moment to think: How did you know that it wasn't up to scratch? What gave it away? 

Some people will tell you getting an accent right is all about getting the "music." This is half true; an authentic accent is more than just breathiness, an upward inflection or some kind of indefinable "twang".

Rather than repetitive drilling and vague directions about your tongue or your jaw, I combine my training as an actor and director with my postgraduate study of PHONETICS (how we pronounce things) and most importantly PHONOLOGY (how we think about how we pronounce things) to show you what you ARE doing, what you are CAPABLE of doing, and equip you with the tools you need to ultimately teach yourself after our sessions are done.

Basically, I can't move your tongue, lips, jaw and palate for you, so I target how you are THINKING ABOUT the sounds rather than how you are physically making them. Accents are much more about mental gymnastics than you would expect.

Current Rates as at January 2025*

Private Coaching - $150 per hour (or part thereof)
Production Coaching - $150 per hour (or part thereof)
Consultancy (casting, on set, studio, ADR, etc) - based on applicable Equity Award rate (Level 6), please contact for details
Foreign Accent Reduction for Performers - $180 per hour

Prices for sessions longer than 1 hour or with 2 or more students can be negotiated based on requirements. 
A fee is negotiable for independent production attachment (including but not limited to casting, rehearsal, and/or on set attendance) depending on requirements and resources.

Cancellation policy
Please be aware that any session or engagement cancelled by the client LESS THAN 24 hours prior to the agreed time is forfeited and payment must be made in full. Sessions cancelled by me naturally incur no charge and I will do my utmost to accommodate a new time convenient to you. Once the session is booked these terms are considered agreed to. If you have any questions or concerns about this please raise them at the time of booking.

Some of the projects I've worked on...

Aside from the productions below, I was the co-ordinator and lecturer in voice, dialect, and script analysis for the Elder Conservatorium's Bachelor of Music Theatre from 2020-2022. I am also a regular tutor for NIDA's Open Program, was the principle voice teacher for the NSW Department of Education's Arts Unit , and have taught classes, workshops, or terms for AFTT, AADA, Federation University, Ensemble Studios, Screenwise, and The Actor's Pulse. I've also been invited to present workshops as part of the NSW State Drama Conference, and specialised courses for voice actors at King Sound Studios.
