In 2011 Nick was invited to direct the New Theatre's Mardi Gras mainstage production and the Australian premiere of Canary by highly acclaimed and much loved UK playwright Jonathan Harvey. It played to sell out crowds and critical acclaim.

He worked with design team Tom Bannerman (set), Marissa Dale-Johnson (costume), Rhys D Webb (sound) and Spiros Hritsias (lighting).

Cast was Caleb Alloway, Peter Flett, Matthew Hyde, Conrad Le Bron, Alice Livingstone, Emma Louise, and Peter McAllum.

BRAND SPANKING NEW - 2008-2010

Nick made his directorial debut in Sydney for the New Theatre's inaugural Brand Spanking New festival in 2008, directing Stephen Peacocke (Hercules, The Newsreader, RFDS, Home & Away) and Bel Delia (The Tunnel, Love of My Life) in "Interrupting Grace" by Augusta Supple.

He went on to direct for each subsequent year of the festival, with Lone Bird in 2009 by AWGIE Award winning playwright Verity Laughton (The Nargun and the Stars), starring Fiona Press (Disgrace, San Andreas), Bruno Xavier and Tim Allen, and Atomograd in 2010 by Philip Parsons Award winning playwright Caleb Lewis, starring Kate Skinner and Lemi Matheson.
